1. Information We Collect
To provide our matrimonial services, we collect information provided directly by you during registration, profile creation, and account updates:
- Profile Information: Full Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Age, Marital Status, Native Place, Sub-caste, Gothra, Religion, Family Details, and Partner Expectations.
- Photographs: Profile photos, family photos, and watermarked gallery images uploaded to your account.
- Mobile & Email Information: Primary mobile number and email address used for mobile OTP authentication, account security, transaction updates, and customer support.
- Subscription & Payment Information: Payment order references, plan selection, payment status, and transaction history. Note: Banajiga Matrimony does not intentionally store complete card numbers, CVV numbers, UPI PINs, passwords, or other sensitive payment credentials on its own servers. All payment processing is handled securely through authorised payment service providers.
- Device & Technical Information: IP address, device type, operating system version, app log data, and browser session tokens to maintain account security and prevent fraudulent access.
- Event Registration Information: When you register through our website for a Vadhu Varara Samavesha (matrimony meet) event, we collect the profile and family details entered in the form, your photograph, and, if you pay by UPI, the UPI transaction reference (UTR) number and the payment screenshot you upload. The payment screenshot is used only to verify your registration fee.
App Permissions
The Banajiga Matrimony Android app requests only the following device permissions:
- Camera: used only when you choose to take a photo inside the app (for example, a profile photo).
- Photos / Media: used only when you choose an existing photo from your device to upload to your profile.
- Internet: required to connect to our servers.
These permissions are requested only when you use the related feature, and you can deny or revoke them at any time in your device settings. The app does not access your microphone, contacts, call logs, SMS messages, or precise location.
2. How Information is Used
We process personal information for legitimate matrimonial matchmaking and operational purposes, including:
- Creating and managing your matrimonial account.
- Enabling search, discovery, and interest expression between registered Banajiga community members.
- Generating relevant profile recommendations based on age, education, location, and astrological compatibility.
- Delivering real-time push, SMS, and email alerts for interest requests, accepts, and messages.
- Verifying identity and maintaining platform trust and safety.
- Processing subscription activations and addressing customer support inquiries.
3. Profile Visibility & Privacy Controls
We empower members with customized privacy settings:
- Choose whether your contact details (phone number/email) are visible publicly or restricted to accepted connections.
- Option to control photo visibility (e.g., visible to all members or upon request approval).
- Instant ability to shortlist, block, or report any member profile.
4. Third-Party Service Providers & Payment Processing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third-party advertisers. Data is shared only with authorized service providers under strict confidentiality agreements:
- Payment Processing: Transactions are handled through RBI-authorised payment gateways (such as Razorpay). Sensitive payment credentials are collected and processed directly by the payment service provider.
- SMS & Communication Vendors: Transactional SMS and OTP providers to deliver login verification codes.
- Infrastructure & Security Services: Cloud hosting and encryption infrastructure providers for system uptime and security.
- Legal & Regulatory Authorities: When required by applicable Indian law, regulation, or legal process.
5. Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical security measures—including SSL/TLS encryption in transit, secure access protocols, and database access controls—to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
6. User Requests for Correction & Deletion
You have the right to access, update, correct, or request the deletion of your personal profile information at any time.
You may edit your details directly within the mobile application or website settings. To permanently delete your account and personal data, you can use the in-app deletion option or visit our dedicated Account Deletion Page.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy:
- Active accounts: your profile information and photos are kept while your account is active.
- Deactivated profiles: if you temporarily deactivate your profile, it is hidden from other members and your data is kept so that you can reactivate it later.
- Deleted accounts: when you delete your account, your profile is hidden from all members immediately and your personal information, photos, and messages are permanently erased within 30 days.
- Payment records: transaction references, invoices, and event registration payment proofs are kept for up to 7 years where required by Indian tax and accounting laws (such as GST), and then deleted.
- Fraud and abuse reports: records connected to a report of fraud, abuse, or a legal request may be kept for as long as needed to resolve the matter or as required by law.
8. Children's Privacy
Banajiga Matrimony is intended solely for adults legally eligible for marriage under Indian law (minimum age 18 years for females and 21 years for males). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our platform after updates indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
